The KUS has an extensive network of volunteers that put together events, campaigns and resources to serve the undergraduate Kinesiology community. Under the guidance of each KUS Executive is a team of dedicated volunteer coordinators that organize all things KUS.

As Co-Directors of the KUS BIPOC Committee, we lead a team of passionate students dedicated to fostering an inclusive space for Black, Indigenous, and Students of Color within the KUS. Our goal is to host events that address the unique needs of these communities while maintaining open dialogue to ensure their voices and interests are heard while striving towards a supportive environment. Some of our initiatives include the BIPOC Community Market, the Intercultural Physical Activity Series, and a BIPOC Professional Development Panel. We welcome anyone interested in joining our committee and contributing to our work! As co-coordinators of the KUS Sustainability Committee, we are committed to building a KUS that is proactive and environmentally responsible. Our main goal is to make sustainability initiatives fun, exciting, and impactful. We will be working closely with the KUS President throughout the year to encourage sustainable practices and initiatives within the KUS and throughout its committees. Additionally, we hope to act as a voice for environmental responsibility and encourage our students to make environmentally conscious choices. This year we’re hoping to organize events such as beach cleanups, clothing drives, and bottle drives. We hope that these initiatives can provide opportunities for students to collaborate and make a positive impact in our community! As Grad Committee Coordinators, we aim to make the final year for the Class of 2027 memorable! We bring Kinners together through events, celebrating our achievements and making the most of our last year at UBC. Throughout the year, we’ll create opportunities for grads to bond, reminisce, and celebrate the memories we’ve made along the way. The Grad Committee is here to ensure every graduating Kinner with lasting memories, a strong sense of community, and plenty of pride in being part of a kin-credible Class of 2027!

Kin Camp Coordinators collaborate to create a memorable weekend for the incoming class of Kinners! We spend the summer planning and organizing this trip to ensure our campers have a good experience. This event provides the incoming class a chance to meet their peers in a welcoming environment and build so many new friendships :)

As your Volunteer Training and Appreciation Coordinators, we aim to make KUS volunteers feel welcome and appreciated. Our goal is to bring the KUS community together and celebrate our achievements. We host the volunteer training day and provide our volunteers with resources they need to succeed in their roles.

KUS Pride is a committee dedicated to initiatives that foster inclusion and empowerment within UBC’s School of Kinesiology. We host events such as professional panels, workshops, and socials for 2SLGBTQIA+ students and allies. We also maintain a consistent social media presence with our posts that spotlight queer spaces, athletes, and holidays. As Director, I will oversee committee responsibilities, organize meetings, and ensure our efforts align with our mission statement and goals. Beyond these responsibilities, I will emphasize developing community within our team and provide opportunities for us to make authentic connections, an aspect of KUS Pride that has allowed us to thrive thus far. Beyond KUS Pride, I will collaborate with executives, faculty members, and other UBC committees to extend our impact beyond Kinesiology and strengthen the principles of inclusion and equity for the UBC 2SLGBTQIA+ community as a whole. Overall, KUS Pride is a purposeful committee that empowers queer students, educates allies, and advocates for meaningful change that strengthens the sense of belonging at UBC and beyond.

As AVP Communications, our role centres around supporting the VP Communications in managing the committees within our portfolio. This includes editing graphics for the KUS Instagram account, contributing to content creation, and assisting in merch production. Additionally, we ensure that all KUS branding remains current and consistent with ongoing projects. Academic Portfolio

As AVPA, I work closely with our VP Academic to ensure the Academic portfolio is on its best shape, while further contributing to the effort of improving this department under the KUS. A big part of my role also involves working closely with all committees under Academic by serving as a resource that can facilitate and guide the planning and execution of events, while further serving as a key moderator that facilitates communication between committee cords and VP Academic.
This year, we will be introducing multiple innovative ideas and resources that will improve the university experience of fellow Kinners. From providing flashcard decks for challenging classes to a whole new event that will help us kickstart our career plan after graduation!! The Professional Development Coordinators aim to help kinesiology students explore and prepare for their future careers by creating opportunities to learn directly from students, professionals, and individuals with experience in different fields. Throughout the academic year, the Coordinators work with the PD Committee to organize events that introduce students to a variety of career and postgraduate pathways while providing a space to ask questions, gain practical insight, and connect with others who share similar interests.
This year, the PD Committee will host a range of events focused on different stages of professional development, including a postgraduate interview preparation session, research panel, physiotherapy and occupational therapy panel, and medicine panel. These events are designed to provide students with both practical preparation and first-hand perspectives on potential career paths. By offering diverse events and encouraging students to actively engage with speakers and their peers, the PD Committee hopes to make career exploration more accessible and help students feel more informed and prepared as they consider their next steps.

As KAS coordinators, our goal is to make academic support more accessible and engaging for Kinesiology students. We aim to provide students with reliable and regularly updated resources while creating a supportive environment where students can connect with each other and share knowledge. Since we understand that school can be challenging, we hope to make learning more enjoyable by combining academics with fun, interactive activities. Be sure to keep an eye out for our events in the coming year, such as Jeopardy and Family Feud-style review sessions, mock bellringers, and study sessions! We will also continue to expand our online academic resources such as flashcards and our textbook library so students can easily find helpful study materials whenever they need them.

As KiWe coordinators, we aim to create a safe space where students can feel comfortable and supported! We are dedicated to fostering a welcoming environment for students to connect with others and make new friends. We also hope to be able to bring awareness to mental health and its value to overall well-being. In addition, we aim to provide students with resources that can inform them about the important aspects of mental health and wellness, while also sharing strategies to help. Beyond providing resources, we also host a variety of fun and engaging events throughout the year, including Puppy Yoga and Cookin’ with KiWe, to encourage students to take a break and relax while building connections within the community. Ultimately, we hope to create an open and supportive environment where conversations surrounding mental health and wellness feel more approachable and guide students through helpful resources so that they know what is available to them when they need support!

As KINference coordinators, we will be organizing a multiday event that brings together the kin-munity with interactive workshops, hands-on stations, career pannels, and career resrouces to explore and discover kin-related career paths. This student-led conference is designed to support the personal and professional development of KIN students in a way that feels relevant, engaging, and exciting. This year, KINference will shine a spotlight on some of the most popular career paths in kinesiology, health, from physiotherapy and occupational therapy to medicine, research, fitness, and beyond. Students will have a chance to hear from our alumni about their experiences after graduation, the paths they took, the challenges they encountered, and the lessons they wish they had known as KIN students. Additionally, Kinference hopes to provide workshops that cover practical skills such as job searching, resume and cover letter writing, networking, interview preparation, and navigating applications for graduate programs and employment. KINference is a space to ask questions, make connections, gain practical skills, and learn from those who have been in your shoes. Most importantly, it’s an opportunity to leave feeling more informed, confident, and excited about the possibilities ahead!

As AVPs External, we work closely with the VP External to assist in organizing, coordinating, and directing volunteer teams within essential committees like KINdustry and NetworKIN. Our duties include overseeing sponsorship opportunities, supporting event planning, and managing all external communications for the KUS. We build and sustain strong partnerships with sponsors and campus partners, manage online student resources, and ensure effective communication by collecting updates from committees to keep the VP External well-informed. Ultimately, our goal is for these initiatives to create valuable opportunities for student networking, professional development, and community involvement.

The KINdustry Coordinators are responsible for planning and delivering professional development initiatives that help students explore career pathways and prepare for future opportunities. Throughout the year, KINdustry organize events that connect students with industry professionals, alumni, professors, and employers while highlighting the diverse career paths available with a Kinesiology degree. Planned programming includes career panels, networking opportunities, the Career Fair, the Black Tie Event, and workshops focused on career development. Through these initiatives, KINdustry aims to provide students with practical resources and the skills needed during and beyond their undergraduate degree.

As the NetworKIN Coordinators, our responsibility is to create opportunities that help Kinesiology students build meaningful connections within the School of Kinesiology, across UBC, and with the broader community. We oversee the committee by organizing meetings, supporting committee members, and working closely with the VP and AVPs External to plan and deliver initiatives throughout the year.
A major focus of NetworKIN is the Undergrad Buddies Program, which connects lower-year and transfer students with upper-year KIN students based on shared interests, goals, and experiences. We also plan student-faculty events that create more approachable opportunities for students to connect, including Afternoon with Profs and Dogs and Profs. Through these initiatives, we aim to strengthen relationships between students, faculty, and the broader KINmunity while helping students feel more connected and involved throughout their time at UBC.

My role as AVP finance is to organize and oversee all of the room bookings for KUS events. I also assist the VP Finance with various aspects of the finance portfolio.

As the KINdergarten Finance Coordinator, my main goal is to support KIN students with their interests in finance/money management. The KINdergarten Finance Committee aims to deliver fun events and workshops that focus on giving KIN students the resources to help themselves and their futures with all things finance. We create opportunities for students to connect with professionals via guest speakers who share their expertise with us. I hope that our committee is able to reach as many KIN students as possible to help them gain confidence in their financial skills, or help them learn something new!

As coordinators of the Kintramurals Committee, our main responsibility is to create fun and engaging opportunities for Kinesiology students to connect with one another through sports and physical activity. We work alongside our committee members to plan and organize events throughout the year, while also managing the logistics needed to make each event successful. This includes booking fields and facilities, organizing equipment, coordinating with committee members, and marketing events to encourage participation from Kin students.
Some of our events include drop-in soccer, volleyball, and pickleball, which provide students with casual opportunities to stay active, meet new people, and connect with others in the Kinesiology community. This year, we also hope to bring back the Kinmazing Race, an interactive event that encourages teamwork and friendly competition. Additionally, we are looking to introduce a student-versus-faculty event to further strengthen connections within the Kinesiology community. Overall, our goal is to create inclusive, enjoyable events that promote participation, school spirit, and a stronger sense of community among Kin students.
