What is KIN Camp?
Who: Any first-year + transfer Kin students
What: A camping trip full of team-building games and challenges to welcome you to UBC KIN!
Where: Squamish Valley Campground
When: September 5th - 7th
Why: To introduce incoming students to our KINmmunity and help build meaningful connections!

KIN Camp 2025 is an incredible 3 day adventure exclusively for new KIN students to connect with other fellow Kinners! Whether you are a first year or a transfer student, this experience is tailored for you to forge deep connections with other Kinners and meet your future lifelong friends within the KINmmunity. Engage in various activities throughout the duration of the camp, promoting inclusivity and fostering a sense of belonging, all while ensuring a fun and safe environment!
Kick off your UBC KIN experience by taking a bus up to the beautiful Squamish Valley Campgrounds. You will be split into different coloured teams led by your team leaders who will guide you through various team-building activities created to enhance your academics, social connections, and your involvement in the KINmmunity.
Brace yourself for the challenge of competing against other teams to claim the title of KIN Camp champions! Unwind from the busy day by sleeping in a cozy tent and getting served delicious meals prepared by your fellow leaders.

General FAQ’s
Q) What can I expect to be doing at Kin Camp?
You will be grouped into teams (accompanied by our lovely leaders) to compete in different themed challenges; social, spirit, academic, and more!
Q) What is included in my ticket?
Transit, tents, most meals and snacks, exclusive KIN Camp T-Shirt and all activities will be included in your ticket!
Q) What should I bring?
Here’s our Kin Camp Packing List! Additionally, once registered your team leaders will send you an email with more details about the weekend. The KUS Office (Room 30, War Memorial Gym) will also be open for you to drop off your things, attend classes, and then pick them up before the trip!

Q) Can I pay and register in cash?
If you have no other method of payment and must use cash or e-transfer, please find the Kin Camp booth at Osborne Centre on Imagine Day (September 2nd 12:00PM-1:30PM). We will have stations where you can pay using cash or e-transfer. *Please note that this is an exception for some students and not a preferred method of payment.
